About Macao Trading Co
Macao Trading Company takes its stimulus from the brothels and opium dens of old 1930s Macao. An exotic time-out-of-time place was mysterious, adventurous, and decadent. Whether an intimate dinner, large party or late-night dining, take advantage of the signature Eurasian cuisine: a sumptuous blend of Chinese and Portuguese influences.
The name “Macao” comes from the Chinese “a-ma-go”, meaning “bay of a-ma”. A-ma was the Chinese goddess of seafarers and fishermen who had erected a temple on the peninsula. In a clash of cultures, merchants from all over the globe converged over this territory at the base of the Zhujiang (Pearl River). It became a juxtaposition of “east meets west”.
Main Dining Room Of Macao
All your senses stand stirred in Macao’s Main Dining Room. The room evokes history, myth, legend, and legacy, a rich, romantic, and raunchy industrial warehouse. And the mood and the menu remain of a piece.
Indulge your inner gourmand with a collection of small and large plates that are as playfully carnal as sublime. The menu remains crafted with Family Style dining in mind. At Macao, we inspire you to play well with others.
Capacity: 80 Seated Dinner, 150 Cocktail Events.
Lounge Downstairs And Full Buyout Of Macao
Unabashedly decadent, the Lounge Downstairs is a sensualists’ palace on an intimate scale. Descend the stairs, take a beat to take in the titillating curiosities on display, turn the corner and be transported even as the bar bustles.
Although, The tables for two encourage amity, and the back booths afford privacy. Also, It’s that hush-hush opium den feel, where absinthe replaces opium (see Dr Funk on the Specialty Cocktail Menu). Still, nothing is close in the mood-altering translation save the toxicity.

Although, In the late 19th century, Macao would remain overshadowed by Hong Kong, a mere 45 miles away, whose deeper waters lured the larger ships of its day. Macao’s “Red Lantern District” would soon evolve into a sanctuary for smugglers, pirates, gamblers, prostitutes and war-profiters.
